What sets us apart from other consulting firms is that our approach is designed specifically with SMEs in mind. We know that often the constraint on progress for many businesses is having people around who are good at “getting stuff done”. That’s why we have a team of people with a wide range of skills, an entrepreneurial spirit and the experience of similar challenges, who can slot into your business to help.
Where possible we try not to write reports as they are typically out of date by the time they’re published (and who has time to read to read them?). Our hands-on approach and knowledge and insight has been recognised our clients and by other organisations such as Barclays Bank (where we are on their turnaround panel).

Wellmeadow was formed in 2010 by David Parry and Richard Buckle as a result of want to provide clients with a different approach to consulting. The focus is still the same today, as it was when we started – analytical insights, hands-on approach and exceptional client care.
Over the next few years we continued to grow the consulting business as well as experimenting with a few start-up ventures (often in collaboration with clients) which had mixed success!
Towards the end of 2013, we were asked by a client to help them recruit a Commercial Director. This prompted us to develop a recruitment process which has evolved over the next two years . We’ve since been involved in the recruitment of process for over 35 roles with 87% of successful candidates still in post.
In 2014 our team was outgrowing the shared office we were working in so the decision was taken to purchase our own property. In December 2014, we moved into our new offices in Shrewsbury town centre.
2015 has seen us continue to grow our team, get settled into our offices and start a number of new projects and initiatives.
Our vision hasn’t changed since we first set up Wellmeadow. We want to build a company of lasting value where success is measured in terms of client service, reputation, employee engagement and financial performance.
Our aim is to create an environment that offers an interesting place to work and challenges us to always be learning, thinking and innovating.
Simply, we want to be business people who work with, support and challenge other business people to achieve their version of success.
How we think determines how we act. Our values are critical to how we treat our clients, employees and other people.
We have a huge amount of trust placed in us by clients and colleagues and it forms the basis of all of our business relationships.
We will act in a way that is worthy of the trust place in us, in the knowledge that we have access to sensitive information and must take responsibility for our actions.
We will be honest with both our clients and ourselves at all times. Sometimes this might be uncomfortable or painful but we are not paid to be “yes men” (or women).
We will act with integrity at all times as we believe there is a right way and a wrong way to do business. Our principles guide our conduct and it is only through having ethically sound business practices that we can build something of lasting value.
We always aim to do what we say we are going to do. Reliability is critical to building relationships, making things happen and getting stuff done.
Going the extra mile should be standard. We aim to surprise our clients (in a good way!) rather than just do the job.
Thirst for Knowledge
Core to our identity is a drive for learning, exploring new ideas and innovation. If we don’t know something we research it or find an expert. We read books, discuss ideas and challenge others to develop and grow in their understanding of business and life.
Andrea has been responsible for managing change, driving business process improvement, and championing best practice, and has contributed towards setting and implementing strategy
Michelle came to Wellmeadow in February 2015 and brought a wealth of experience in managing a practice, marketing and PR.
